Image optimization guide
AtomicImage is a free image compressor and converter that runs directly in your browser. It supports JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF, lets you resize images and removes EXIF metadata during conversion.
Files are processed locally and are not uploaded to huby servers. This improves privacy and makes the tool useful for photographs, blog covers, ecommerce images and website assets.
AVIF usually creates smaller files, while WebP often converts faster and has broad compatibility. Use AVIF when minimum file size matters and WebP when you want a balance between speed, quality and compatibility.
No. Compression, resizing and conversion happen locally in the browser. Closing or refreshing the page removes the working files from the session.
A quality between 70% and 85% is a practical starting point for most photographs. Logos, illustrations and images with text may require a higher setting or PNG.
The original may already be highly optimized, or the selected quality and dimensions may be higher than the source. AtomicImage warns you when keeping the original is the better option.
